Shuk, Tunnels and Graffiti Walls

This is a combo of a couple different entries. The first one is about the Shuk. This is a huge market area in West Jerusalem. There are all different types of stands and free samples everywhere! It was fun to spend a chill afternoon exploring.

Shuk!!

Oh the fruit....:)

Dried Fruit :)

Donuts!!

At the end we just sat down and chilled people watching.

That night we went on a tour of the tunnels underneath the western wall. Some of the stones in there dated back to the second temple period (The time of Herod and Christ). Some of the stones weighed 600 tons!! That's like 300 elephants!
Secret tunnels! (Isn't it weird I still have never seen that movie)

This place is very special to Jews because this is the closest that they can get to the temple mount and where they believe that the Holy of Holies was.

My teacher commented while this picture was being taken, "HI! My name is Erin!"

Western Wall at night! We felt like rebels cause usually we cant be in the old city after dark.

The next day we went to the Separation wall. This wall represents a lot of injustice, hardship and persecution  There is so much hatred between Palestinians and Israelis. It makes me long for a day when there will be peace.
